Soulful live blues bands will be getting down and funky this weekend as the notes bounce off the high Colorado Rockies at the Keystone Blues Festival and Art Show Aug. 21-22, 2010.
Get down to some snazzy jazz, grab a beverage, try one of many delicious food dishes, and stroll through the juried art show as one of a kind artists trim the plaza. Free kids activities and more round out this day of bluesy fun for the whole family. Stay with ResortQuest Keystone and stay at the heart of the event in River Run!
Schedule:
Both days of the festival begin at 1pm with the Art show, the Kidzone (which will keep the kids entertained all day) and food & beverages being served!
Saturday at 1pm rock out to Lipbone Redding as he revs up the party and creates original songs that effervesce with New Orleans swing, Memphis grooves and New York City style. He’s known for his ability to use his vocal to sound exactly like a trombone, it’s hard to tell the difference – so keep your eyes peeled!
At 3 pm Listen to Tommy Thomas who was raised by a musical family in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Tommy has been groomed by the sweet sound of blues and gospel since the day he was born. Tommy is a past recipient of the Living Blues Critics' Award.
At 5 pm rock out to the Blooz Dogz. Geoff Meyer & Jon Sterling met in 1996 and formed a fast friendship based on mutual insanity...Both Geoff and Jon have a heart for children and want to use the gift they have been given to help raise funds and awareness for children.
Sunday do it all again with the Hazel Miller Band playing at 5 pm. Hazel Miller is not just a great singer; "she is a force of nature!" quotes the Rocky Mountain News. Her voice has been called "stunning, moving and powerful." Hazel has been a sought after performer in Colorado for the past 24 years. Whether she is singing blues, jazz, pop, or Gospel, her voice charges the songs with a primal dose of genuine soul.
